KLEINHANS MUSIC HALL ANNOUNCES NEW SEASON OF GLOBAL GROOVES SHOWCASING MUSICAL TRADITIONS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Featuring Family FUNKtion and the Sitar Jams, Machine Dream and Vieux Farka Touré

BUFFALO, NY – Kleinhans Music Hall is pleased to announce the return of The Global Grooves music series for the 2024/2025 season, featuring three captivating musical groups with cultural roots spanning from Africa to Eastern Europe to India.

The Global Grooves music series, aims to bridge cultures and ignite a shared passion for music. Through captivating performances which highlight a variety of cultures, it celebrates the rich tapestry of musical traditions from around the world, fostering cross-cultural understanding, appreciation, and unity among the beautifully diverse community of WNY.

This year we are proud to showcase two local acts who embody the spirit of the Global Grooves series. Taking place in The Blue Room for an even more intimate experience, you won’t want to miss these performances!

Machine Dream

Bold, intimate, and innovative: the accordion duo Machine Dream’s repertoire is an exhilarating mix of cross over world jazz, Prog-Rock, hints of contemporary avant-garde & classical. Machine Dream’s interplay of traditional piano accordion and the Eastern Bayan paints lushly textured landscapes, drives into explosive highs, and fades into stark abstraction.

Vieux Farka Touré

World-renowned musician Vieux Farka Touré is often referred to as “the Hendrix of the Sahara,” and has become a cultural ambassador for the people of Mali and the Sahel. His 2022 collaboration with Khruangbin, “Ali,” pays tribute to his father (legendary guitar player Ali Farka Touré), receiving international acclaim. Touré’s live performances are highly energized, dazzling crowds with his charisma and talent.
