Sept. 12, 1939: Cornerstone of Kleinhans Music Hall is laid

When Edward Kleinhans, the owner of Kleinhans Mens store, died in 1934, he left his fortune to the City of Buffalo to build a modern music palace. Five years later, the cornerstone was laid for the music hall, which was among the last of the projects built in Buffalo by the Depression-era Federal Public Works Agency. Read more.
