Martin Luther King celebration set for Jan. 18, Buffalo News

Bishop T. Anthony Bronner, pastor of Elim Christian Fellowship Ministry, will be the keynote speaker in the annual Martin Luther King Celebration Program at 6 p.m. Jan. 18 in Kleinhans Music Hall. Admission is free.

Among those honoring the fabled civil rights leader’s legacy in song, dance and word will be the Hutch-Tech Band, Miss Barbara’s School of Dance, the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, the African Cultural Center Dancers, the Var-Son Community Choir and the Rise Up WNY Choir.

Students will receive an MLK certificate for their volunteer work in the program. Also honored will be community leaders Dr. Stan Bratton, Sheila Brown, Miguel Santos, Al’Nisa Banks, Cariol J. Horne, Frank Merriweather, Barbara Nevergold and Dr. Frances Ilozue.
