SUMMARY:Discovering the Galápagos: Sarah Knutie | National Geographic Live
DESCRIPTION:Doors at 5:30 PM\nVIP tickets include complimentary beverages\, beer and wine along with light hors d’oeurves\, cheese and cracker plates\, and some sweets. \nThe Galápagos sparked our understanding of evolution and adaptation 175 years ago. Now\, with National Geographic Explorer Sarah Knutie as an expert guide\, discover the Galápagos anew as we go on assignment to explore the groundbreaking science that’s happening with Darwin’s finches\, giant tortoises\, migratory sharks\, and other remarkable wildlife on these islands. \nAbout Sarah Knutie\n \nSarah Knutie is a disease ecologist who studies the effects of invasive parasites on Darwin’s finches in the Galápagos Islands\, where she has worked since 2010. She is an associate professor at the University of Connecticut. She has a passion for teaching\, especially when she can incorporate hands-on fieldwork\, and she mentors an amazing group of female scientists. \nThank you to our incredible sponsors!
