One of today’s hottest string quartets returns to Buffalo for a performance featuring music by Richard Danielpour, Tchaikovsky and Bartok. Students are admitted free. Come at 7:15 for a talk hosted by WNED’s Peter Hall.

Named as Cleveland Quartet Award winner for the 2016–17 and 2017–18 seasons, the Dover Quartet was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant in March 2017. It was at Curtis that the Quartet first formed, and its name pays tribute to Dover Beach by fellow Curtis alumnus Samuel Barber.

Program

Danielpour – Four Miniatures for String Quartet
Tchaikovsky – Quartet No. 1 in D major, Op. 11
Bartók – Quartet No. 1, Op. 7
